A link to the Past, The Legend of Zelda Fan art
Or I should i say a link to my past?
Trying different things and techniques are the key component in the artistic process. Sometimes without the right motivations is very hard to keep the work coming. For this piece I look in my own past and remember the great moments that I had playing The Legend of Zelda, a Link to The Past for Snes. I could play tons of hours with this game and getting lost in all its 8 bit dungeons...Particulary for this painting of one of my favorite heroes, Link, I tried to avoid the use of the line art, at the same time I did not want to lose the cartoonish features on his face. I applied some texture layers above to give a "hand made" effect.
